The San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors play Tuesday night at the ORACLE Arena.
The San Antonio Spurs improve to 3-3 on the season with a Monday road win over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Spurs haven’t shot the ball particularly well to begin the season, as they were shooting just 43.2 percent on the season and shot under 40 percent from the field in their win over the Clippers. The Spurs have lost six of their last eight regular games when scoring under 100 points. The good news is that Kawhi Leonard has 40 points and 24 rebounds in his last two games, while Tim Duncan has posted three straight double doubles. However, Tony Parker is coming off a 3-13 from the field performance and Manu Ginobili is 5-15 from downtown on the season. The Spurs are allowing 96.8 points on 44.8 percent shooting. It’s only a matter of time before the San Antonio Spurs break out of their funk and Monday’s win could be a sign of things to come.
USA TODAY Sports
The Golden State Warriors are off to a fast 5-1 start and shooting lights out from the field. The Warriors are averaging 105.2 points on 49 percent shooting from the field. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have combined for more than 50 points per game, and Thompson is probable despite a hand injury. Draymond Green is shooting 42.3 percent from three and Harrison Barnes is 5-9 from the field in his last two games. The Golden State Warriors are getting quality shots each and every possession and they’ve won 20 of their last 21 games when scoring 100-plus points. Defensively, the Warriors are allowing 94.8 points on 40.4 percent shooting. The Warriors were my preseason pick to win it all and they’re off to the best start of any team in the league.
The Spurs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games. The Warriors are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest. The Spurs are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Golden State and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings overall.
We all know how the Spurs treat back to backs. Meanwhile, the Warriors simply haven't been missing this season and could easily blowout a SA team that isn't 100 percent interested. Give me Golden State by double digits.
