The Orlando Magic host the Milwaukee Bucks in a battle between rebuilding teams in the East on Friday night.
The Milwaukee Bucks are 4-4 to start the year coming off back-to-back home wins by razor thin margins against the Grizzlies and Thunder. The Bucks have been somewhat offensively challenged to start the year, but they've shown some competency on the defensive end which is at least partially attributable to having a healthy Larry Sanders (8 reb./gm) at the center position. On offense, Brandon Knight really fills up the stat sheet from the point guard position averaging 17 points, seven assists and six rebounds per game while hitting the three ball at a 41% clip. The inconsistent O.J. Mayo is second on the team in points with 12 points per game and next are rookie standout Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo who each average 11 points per game. The Bucks have good depth with average-quality players but lack star power as currently constructed.

The Orlando Magic are 3-6 to start the year and don't face much in the way of expectations in what is clearly a rebuilding year. Nikola Vucevic is an impressive young force down low averaging a double double with 19 points and 12 rebounds per game. Evan Fournier has also showcased his scoring ability while averaging 18 points per game and Tobias Harris is another nice piece averaging 17 points and eight rebounds per game. The Magic have yet to win a game comfortably this year but they've shown more fight than most have anticipated in the bulk of their losses which makes them an intriguing team to back when getting a bundle of points. Unfortunately here they're listed as the favorite which is an unfamiliar role for this team that is still establishing an identity.
With this game being played in Orlando I see the Magic setting the pace of the game which should result in the Bucks potentially hitting 100 points despite that being a rare occurrence for them. With young teams you need to tread lightly but I'm on the over here.
