The Phoenix Suns invade the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.
The Phoenix Suns were beaten by the Hornets 103-94 despite having all starters finish in double figures including 22 points from Eric Bledsoe. The problem was that the Suns' key reserve guards Gerald Green and Isaiah Thomas combined for just nine points after scoring an impressive 53 points in the team's past two games. With the loss, Phoenix drops to a mediocre 5-4 which is quite a disappointment, because seven of those nine games have come at home where they are now 4-3.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have lost three of their last five games and are coming into this one off an 89-85 loss against the Spurs. Blake Griffin had 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while Chris Paul added 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists as the Clippers outplayed the Spurs for about three quarters of the game before the Spurs closed the game on a 14-3 run to steal the game. From start to finish, the Clippers just looked a step quicker than the Spurs but just couldn't execute their offense when it really mattered, causing them to miss 10 of 14 shots in the fourth quarter. With the loss, the Clippers fall to 4-3 overall and 3-2 at home.
In ATS trends, the Suns are 16-7-1 ATS in their last 24 road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five against the Western Conference, while the Clippers are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games overall and 0-9 ATS in their last nine home games.
Neither of these two teams are playing to the high standards that we had of them to start the season, so it's pretty hard to put your money either way in this one. However, the Clippers haven't played since Monday so should have a significant edge over the Suns who played just last night. I know that isn't much to go on, but the Clippers have got to snap out of their funk sooner or later, right?
