The Toronto Raptors will be hosting the Utah Jazz on Saturday night.
The Toronto Raptors are becoming the talk of the NBA right now, as the Raptors are playing some of the best ball in the league. The Raptors are 7-2 right now and have won five of their last six heading into this meeting with the Jazz. Last time out, the Raptors did fall to the Bulls, 100-93 on Thursday night. Toronto has had plenty of time for that loss to soak in, so expect to see a focused Toronto team here on Saturday, ready to get back into that win column against a much weaker Utah squad.

The Utah Jazz are playing well at times this season, but still the Jazz are below the .500 mark currently, having a record of 4-6 on the season. Utah is just 1-2 in their last three games, but the Jazz did get a solid win against the Knicks on Friday, beating the Knicks in New York 102-100. The Jazz got solid play from all of their starting five against the Knicks, but Gordon Hayward led the way for Utah against the Knicks, scoring 32 on the night. Utah isn’t going to make a ton of noise this season, but the Jazz have the makeup of a team that can take anyone out, if they are looking past them, or not taking them too seriously.
I’m going to take the Raptors here. I don’t like laying double digit points very often in the NBA, especially against a team that actually matches up pretty well like the Jazz do to the Raptors. What is scaring me off of Utah here is the fact that this is the fifth straight road game for the Jazz, and the final one in this stretch. Right now, the Jazz are 2-2 on this trip, and although I’m sure the narrative for the Jazz in the locker room will be “get a win to win this trip”, if the Jazz fall behind early to the Raptors I just don’t see their legs being in it to come back. Meanwhile, the Raptors have been at home forever, and after suffering a loss to the Bulls last time out, and having some time between the Jazz game and their next matchup, I’m sure the Raptors will give the Jazz their full attention.
