The Phoenix Suns travel to The Garden tonight to battle the Boston Celtics.
The Phoenix Suns started the season winning three of four including a win over the Spurs, but they've since lost four of their last six including a 120-107 thumping at the hands of the Clippers on Saturday. Gerald Green scored 26 points off the bench in just 28 minutes while Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas added 19 points each, but the Suns just couldn't contain Chris Paul who ignited the Clippers in a 42-20 third quarter while finishing with 32 points of his own. The smaller lineups for the Suns have been hit and miss all season, because it's the reason that they're ranked eighth in the league in scoring with 104 points per game, but they also why they allow 105 points per game which ranks them 25th in the league.

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been cursed with one of the more tougher schedules to start the season, but they've still managed to go 3-5 after falling painfully short to the Cavaliers on Friday. Kelly Olynyk led the scoring with 21 points while Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger added 19 points each, but the Celtics would go onto to lose by 122-121 despite leading by 103-84 early in the fourth quarter. Of course, the narrow loss is heartbreaking to the Celtics but they should take plenty of confidence from what was still a great effort.
In ATS trends, the Suns are 9-2-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games overall, while the Celtics are 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS win and 1-4 ATS in their last five games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
Head to head, the Suns are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Boston.
Based on talent, the Suns should have enough to win if they play to their potential but I just feel that the Celtics will be eager to bounce back after such a heartbreaking loss, so I'm taking the home team to scrape by and cover the small spread.
