The Orlando Magic and Charlotte Hornets play Friday night at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Orlando Magic have split their last four games and are still having trouble putting the ball in the hoop. The Magic are averaging just 96.5 points on 46.3 percent shooting and have lost 14 of their last 16 games when scoring less than 100 points. Tobias Harris leads Orlando with 18.9 points on 48.2 percent shooting and Nikola Vucevic is scoring 18.8 points and grabbing 11.9 rebounds. The Charlotte Hornets have lost five of their last six games and are also having a hard time scoring. The Hornets are averaging just 93.9 points on 43.1 percent shooting and have lost four straight when scoring less than 100 points. Al Jefferson leads Charlotte with 20.7 points and 6.8 rebounds, and Kemba Walker is averaging 14.5 points and 4.8 assists. Lance Stephenson, Charlotte’s big offseason addition, is 7-19 from the field with 14 assists in his last two games. Defensively, the Charlotte Hornets are allowing 99.3 points on 46 percent shooting. Defense has kept Charlotte competitive but it’s not good enough with the poor offensive production. Gary Neal and P.J. Hairston are both questionable for this game with injuries.
The Magic are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference. The Magic are 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings in Charlotte and 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall.
Both teams struggling, give me the better overall team at home. Charlotte should be able to use this game to get out of its slump, as the Magic are banged up and won't have many answers offensively for Kemba and Big Al. The Hornets will cruise.
