The San Antonio Spurs head to Minnesota on Friday to face off against the Timberwolves.
The Minnesota Timberwolves get set to host the Spurs on Friday night. The Timberwolves are struggling this season, as the T-Wolves are just 3-7 on the year. Minnesota has shown the ability to put up points, but the issue is the Timberwolves can’t stop the opposition from doing the same. Minnesota is giving up nearly 109 points per game this season...not good. The Timberwolves have dropped four out of their last five heading into Friday’s meeting with the Spurs, but the Timberwolves did get a win in their last outing, defeating the Knicks on Wednesday night, so maybe there is something to build off of there.

The San Antonio Spurs are good at basketball. The Spurs are 7-4 right now, but don’t let the losses fool you, the Spurs are probably the most complete team in the league, and really the Spurs are just biding their time until the playoffs. San Antonio has the top ranked defense in the league, allowing just under 92 points per game up to this point. The offense hasn’t always been there, but it will come. The tricky part about backing San Antonio is you never really know if they are going to rest their players, or take a night off.
I’m going to back the Timberwolves here. It’s tough to go against the Spurs and that defense, but the Timberwolves are a better team than their record states, and with the Timberwolves finally getting back into the win column against the Knicks, their spirits will be high. I don’t see Minnesota getting the outright win over the Spurs, but getting four buckets at home is tough to pass up.
