The Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat face off on Tuesday in US Airways Center in NBA action.
The Phoenix Suns fought the good fight on Monday but they lost in OT to the Clippers. The Suns are 6-4 for the season and are in eighth place in the Western Conference standings. The Suns are averaging 1-5.9 points and they are shooting 45.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 103.9 points and their opponents shoot 44.9 percent. Goran Dragic is averaging 16 points per game to lead the Suns. Eric Bledsoe is averaging 15.9 points and 5.7 assists, Isaiah Thomas is averaging 15.5 points, and Markieff Morris is averaging 14.6 points and 6.2 rebounds. The Suns are the fifth best scoring team in the NBA.
USA TODAY Sports
The Miami Heat have hit the skids losing their last four games and dropping to two games under .500 for the season. The Heat are 5-5 on the road, 4-6 in their last 10 games, and they are in seventh place in the Eastern conference standings. The Heat are averaging 95 points and they are shooting 46.6 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 98.6 points and their opponents are shooting 48.1 percent. Dwayne Wade leads the heat averaging 22 points and 5.9 assists per game. Chris Bosch is averaging 21.3 points and 8.4 rebounds, Mario Chalmers is averaging 13.7 points, and Luol Deng is averaging 13.6 points. The way the Eastern Conference is setting up the Heat are still very much in the mix.
Phoenix is 4-1 against the spread in their last five against the Eastern Conference, 1-4 against the spread on no days rest, and 2-5-1 against the spread in Tuesday games. Miami is 2-6-1 against the spread against the Pacific, 0-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 0-4 playing on one days rest. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.
Even playing their second game in as many nights the Suns are favored here which I see as more of a reflection of how poorly Miami is playing and I look Phoenix to get the cover here.
