The San Antonio Spurs invade the Pepsi Center to take on the Denver Nuggets tonight.
The San Antonio Spurs have lost three of their last six and are coming off a heartbreaking 112-110 overtime loss to the Lakers. Tim Duncan and Danny Green led the scoring with 19 points apiece while Manu Ginobili added 18, but with the Spurs up by 110-109 with 0:07 left in overtime, the Spurs fell victim to a clutch three from Nick Young who scorched them for 29 points. Ginobili did have the final shot to steal the game, but it just rimmed off to send the Spurs to 16-7 overall and 8-2 at home.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have lost five of their last six and were thoroughly beaten by the Rockets 108-96 last night. The Nuggets led by as many by 14 points in the first half before the Rockets simply took over and ran away with it. Ty Lawson led the way with 19 points and 12 assists while Darrell Arthur made four threes en route to 20 points off the bench, but the Nuggets simply got dominated in the paint and torched by James Harden who finished with a triple double. With the loss, Denver falls to 10-13 on the season and 4-9 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 16-6 ATS in their last 22 games playing on one days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last five against the NBA Northwest, while the Nuggets are 5-0-1 ATS in their last six home games and 32-15 ATS in their last 47 games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the Spurs are 21-8 ATS in the last 29 meetings in Denver and the Road team is 20-8 ATS in the last 28 overall.
There's no doubt that the Nuggets are much better at home, but they've been in a major slump lately, so it doesn't seem like a good time for them to be taking on the Spurs who are coming off a rare loss. I'm taking San Antonio to win and cover this small spread.
