The Dallas Mavericks travel to the US Airways Center to take on the Phoenix Suns tonight.
The Dallas Mavericks will be looking to avoid a second straight loss after they had their three-game win streak snapped by the Hawks last night. All five starters for the Hawks finished in double figures to put the Mavs down by 14 points at halftime and as many as 23 points late in the third quarter before the Mavs got back in the game and made in interesting before losing by 105-102. Rajon Rondo had a nice game of 13 points and 11 assists while Dirk Nowitzki added 16 points, but Monta Ellis, the leading scorer for the Mavs finished with 18 points but shot just 8 of 22 from the field while committing five turnovers. With the loss, Dallas falls to 20-9 on the season and 10-5 at home.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns continue to play better on the road than they do at home, capping a three-game win streak with a 104-92 win over the in-form Wizards on Sunday. Eric Bledsoe and Markieff Morris led the team with 17 points each while Goran Dragic added 16 as the Suns shot a healthy 51.3 percent from the field while holding the Wizards to just 41 percent. Despite the win, Phoenix is still only a mediocre 15-14 on the season, but they had lost six straight before this current win streak, so another win tonight will have them riding a wave of confidence heading into the christmas break.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 1-4 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest and 0-5 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, while the Suns are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record but just 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Mavs are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall but a healthy 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Phoenix.
The last time these teams met, it was the Suns who won by 118-106 back on Dec. 5 and I think it's going to be more of the same, especially given how poor the Mavs have been on the second night of back to back sets this season.
