The Chicago Bulls have won five straight games and are looking like a true East contender. On the season, the Bulls are averaging 103.4 points on 45.8 percent shooting and are allowing 98.7 points on 43.1 percent shooting. Jimmy Butler is averaging 21.6 points and 6.2 rebounds while Pau Gasol is averaging 18.2 points and 11.5 rebounds. Derrick Rose is dishing out five assists and Taj Gibson is shooting 54.3 percent from the field. The Chicago Bulls have been winning games with their offense lately, as they’ve topped 100 points in five of their last eight games and are shooting 42.2 percent from downtown in their last five games. The Bulls are 7-5 SU at home this season. Kirk Hinrich is doubtful for this game with a hamstring injury.
The Pelicans are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 0 days rest and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 vs. Eastern Conference. The Bulls are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Chicago and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings overall.
I'm not sure I like the Pelicans in this spot, as they're traveling and coming off a big win against the Spurs. A young New Orleans team is due for a letdown and it doesn't bode well against a rested Chicago Bulls team. I look for Chicago to win by double digits.
