The Washington Wizards and San Antonio Spurs clash Saturday night at the AT&T Center.
The Washington Wizards have split their last eight games and are playing their fourth straight road contest. On the season, the Wizards are averaging 100.2 points on 47.1 percent shooting and are allowing 97.4 points on 44 percent shooting. John Wall is averaging 17.4 points and 10.3 assists while Bradley Beal is averaging 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. Paul Pierce is shooting 44.6 percent from the field and Marcin Gortat is grabbing 8.2 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are coming off a tough loss to Oklahoma City on Friday but are still scoring at a high percentage. The Wizards have topped 100 points in six of their last nine games and are shooting 42.6 percent from deep in their last five games. The Wizards now have to learn how to win on the road against good teams.
USA TODAY Sports
The San Antonio Spurs have split their last six games and play for the first time since Wednesday. On the season, the Spurs are averaging 102.1 points on 46.5 percent shooting and are allowing 98.6 points on 44.3 percent shooting. Tim Duncan is averaging 15.9 points and 10.7 rebounds while Manu Ginobili is averaging 13.1 points and five assists. Danny Green is shooting 43.7 percent from the field and Boris Diaw is grabbing 4.8 rebounds. The San Antonio Spurs continue to struggle defensively without Kawhi Leonard, as teams are shooting 38.9 percent from downtown in their last five games. While the Spurs are still a playoff team in the standings, things are starting to get a little rocky for the defending champs. Tony Parker is doubtful for this game with a hamstring injury.
The Wizards are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Southwest and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games. The Spurs are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Saturday games. The Wizards are 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings in San Antonio and 5-19-2 ATS in the last 26 meetings overall.
Until the Spurs get healthy, they're hard to trust, especially against a young, athletic team. I like the Wizards and the points here.
