The San Antonio Spurs play host to the streaking Phoenix Suns tonight at the AT&T Center.
The Phoenix Suns will be going for a fifth straight win tonight after escaping Minnesota on Wednesday with a 113-111 win. Goran Dragic led the scoring with 25 points on 11 of 16 shooting while Isaiah Thomas added 17 points off the bench, but the Suns were basically playing from behind the Wolves until Gerald Green flipped the game on its head with a rapid-fire 21 points off the bench. Given the major disparity in talent between these two rosters, the Suns should have won this one by double digits but it actually came down to a potential game winning buzzer beater that Andrew Wiggins missed by a whisker. With the win, Phoenix improved to 22-16 and 13-9 on the road.

Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs have really been struggling like we haven't seen in a long time, losing five of their last nine overall including a 105-104 defeat against the Pistons on Tuesday. Jeff Ayres led seven players in double figures with 16 points while Tim Duncan added 15 points, but while the Spurs shot out to an early 37-20 lead after the first quarter, they just couldn't keep it going against the Pistons who won it right at the buzzer on a Brandon Jennings running layup. Tony Parker left the game after just 13 minutes in his first game back from a hamstring injury while Kawhi Leonard continued to miss time with his hand injury.
In ATS trends, the Suns are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record, while the Spurs are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and just 1-4 ATS in their last five against Western Conference opponents.
Head to head, the Spurs have taken nine of the last 10 regular season meetings with the Suns but lost the last meeting, falling by 94-89 in Phoenix on Oct. 31 this season.
The Spurs haven't been playing their best basketball but it's common knowledge that they'll eventually get healthy, figure things out and get on a long winning streak this season. However, this looks like a good a spot as any for the streaky Suns to come in and get an unlikely win against the Spurs while they're still down.
