The New Orleans Pelicans take on the red-hot Detroit Pistons tonight at The Palace.
The New Orleans Pelicans have lost four of their last six overall and are coming off a surprising 108-100 loss to the Celtics. Anthony Davis lit up the scoreboard with 34 points, Eric Gordon added 21 and Tyreke Evans had 19, but it just wasn't enough as the Celtics blew open a tightly contested game with a 36-24 fourth quarter. Jrue Holiday played just 16 minutes before leaving the game with an ankle injury and he is listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Pistons. With the loss, New Orleans drops back below .500 with a record of 18-19 overall and 6-14 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons continue to flourish, winning nine of their last 10 games since waiving Josh Smith and they're coming off a real surprising 114-111 upset against the Raptors. Greg Monroe had a solid game of 22 points and 10 rebounds while Andre Drummond added 10 points and 14 rebounds, but this game was all about Brandon Jennings who exploded for 34 points and 10 assists, including 15 points in the Pistons' 34-23 third quarter. It's kind of unbelievable how good the Pistons have been playing lately because it wasn't that long ago that they had an identical record to the league-worst Knicks.
In ATS trends, the Pelicans are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a loss and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games overall, while the Pistons are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a win and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Head to head, the Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings overall and the Home team is 7-2 ATS in the last nine.
I keep waiting for the Pistons to mess up and go back to lengthy losing streaks, but they've been playing lights out lately and should be good enough to take care of the Pelicans who will be without Holiday in this one.
