The Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic square off Friday night at the Amway Center.
The Memphis Grizzlies have split their last six games and wrap up a two-game road trip. On the season, the Grizzlies are averaging 101.8 points on 46.5 percent shooting and are allowing 97.9 points on 45 percent shooting. Marc Gasol is averaging 19.4 points and 8.1 rebounds while Mike Conley is averaging 17.9 points and 6.1 assists. Zach Randolph is grabbing 11.7 rebounds and Courtney Lee is shooting 50 percent from the field. The Memphis Grizzlies have really cooled off since the hot start to begin the season and it starts with a defense that’s allowing 37.1 percent shooting from deep in their last five games. The Grizzlies have to get their edge back defensively if they’re going to string more consistent wins together.

The Orlando Magic look to win a season-high three straight after beating Chicago and Houston. On the season, the Magic are averaging 94.8 points on 45.4 percent shooting and are allowing 100 points on 46.1 percent shooting. Nikola Vucevic is averaging 18.9 points and 11.2 rebounds while Victor Oladipo is averaging 16.1 points and 3.9 assists. Channing Frye is grabbing 4.7 rebounds and Elfrid Payton is dishing 5.3 assists. The Orlando Magic are starting to show their young potential by competing with the big boys but have to be better on their home court. Only five of the Magic’s 15 wins this season have come at home. While the Magic still have work cut out for them, they can be a sneaky playoff team if they can keep playing well. Tobias Harris is expected to miss this game with an ankle injury.
The Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 vs. NBA Southeast. The Magic are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Southwest and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Grizzlies are 16-7 ATS in the last 23 meetings.
The Magic just beat the Bulls and the Rockets. Orlando is a young, talented team that seems to be hungry to continue to prove some folks wrong. I'm not sure the Magic can beat another championship contender outright, but I like the value of the points here.
