The New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks play Monday afternoon at Madison Square Garden.
The New Orleans Pelicans have split their last six games and end a five-game road trip. On the season, the Pelicans are averaging 100.8 points on 45.6 percent shooting and are allowing 100.7 points on 46.4 percent shooting. Tyreke Evans is averaging 16.7 points and 5.4 assists while Ryan Anderson is averaging 15.2 points and 5.2 rebounds. Omer Asik is grabbing 10.1 rebounds and Dante Cunningham is producing 3.3 rebounds. The New Orleans Pelicans remain one of the most inconsistent teams in the league and it starts on offense where they’re shooting just 44 percent from the field in their last five games. However, the Pelicans are coming off a big Sunday win over Toronto and could use this game to get a game above a .500 record and chip away in the standings.

The New York Knicks continue to stink it up with 16 straight losses. On the season, the Knicks are averaging 92.5 points on 44 percent shooting and are allowing 101.7 points on 46.5 percent shooting. Carmelo Anthony is averaging 23.9 points and 3.1 assists while Amar'e Stoudemire is averaging 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr. is shooting 38.7 percent from the field and Langston Galloway is dishing three assists. The New York Knicks have scored no more than 96 points in nine straight games and are shooting 42.2 percent from the field in their last five contests. While it is ugly, the Knicks are better off just tanking the rest of the way in hopes they get the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft. Shane Larkin is questionable for this game with an ankle injury.
The Pelicans are 13-2-1 ATS in their last 16 games playing on 0 days rest and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference. The Knicks are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 home games and 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Pelicans are 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings and the underdog is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
Not sure how anybody can back the Knicks regardless of the situation. Take New Orleans and the chalk.
