NBA Player Updates 1/26: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
January 26, 2015
After a pretty busy weekend, the NBA will be going strong once again tonight with seven matchups on the schedule. While we’re waiting for those games to get going, let’s check out some of the notable headlines around the league. Here’s the latest.
Heat-Bulls: Hassan Whiteside is now a Heat franchise record-holder, just a few months after Miami picked him up as a borderline NBA player. He posted 12 blocks in his unconventional triple-double, alongside 14 points and 13 rebounds. The result was a 96-84 victory over the Bulls at United Center.
Helping out were Dwyane Wade (26 points), and Chris Bosh (20 points) while Luol Deng put up 15 points in his Chicago homecoming.

Cavs-Thunder: This one was a pretty enticing matchup as well, and was also nationally televised. The Cavaliers got the better of the Thunder last night in Cleveland, coming through with a 108-98 victory for their sixth win in a row.
LeBron posted 34 points in the win, helping the team pull away in the fourth with a couple of 3-pointers and a nice-looking jumper at the beginning of the period. Kevin Love would add 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Suns-Clippers: Blake Griffin and Chris Paul each scored 23 points against the Suns last night as the team pulled away in the fourth quarter on a 15-0 run. The end result was a 120-100 victory in Phoenix.
JJ Redick added 20 and DeAndre Jordan managed 18 in this one, as L.A. improved to 3-0 over the Suns this year. They’ve won nine of the past 11 in this matchup.
Hawks-Timberwolves: The Hawks continued to cruise last night in Atlanta, posting their 16th straight win over the Timberwolves. This one was a 112-100 affair, with Paul Millsap putting up 20 points and Al Horford adding 19. The 16 wins in a row mark a franchise record for Atlanta.
Thaddeus Young managed 26 points and Mo Williams had 20 for the T-Wolves.
