January 27, 2015
We NBA fans have been fortunate over the past several days, as there has been a steady stream of games coming our way. That will continue this evening with six more matchups on the schedule. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look at the headlines and noteworthy players in today’s wrap-up.
Grizzlies-Magic: Memphis’ long home-stand is over now, but they ended it on a good note. The Grizzlies took it to the Magic 103-94 on the strength of Zach Randolph’s 24 points and 10 rebounds. Marc Gasol also had a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds of his own. It was Memphis’ third straight win.
Orlando had the edge in a couple of spots here, but just couldn’t pull it off. They led in rebounding 44-39 and points in the paint 48-40.

Pelicans-Sixers: Anthony Davis’ five dunks were this highlight of this game, a 99-74 victory over the Sixers. The big man would end up with 32 points and 10 rebounds in the 99-74 win while adding four blocked shots to his line as well.
Ryan Anderson posted 19 points and Eric Gordon would register 13. Tyreke Evans put up 12 assists.
New Orleans now has a four-game win streak going.
Thunder-Timberwolves: The Thunder didn’t have Kevin Durant last night against Minnesota (he was sitting due to a sprained big toe), but they were able to take the victory anyway.
Russell Westbrook put up 18 points and Serge Ibaka had 13 with 19 rebounds (season-high) in the 92-84 victory. OKC shot 42 percent from the field; Westbrook himself was just 7-for-22.
Celtics-Jazz: Tayshaun Prince had a memorable evening against the Jazz, posting 19 points in the 99-90 victory in Salt Lake City.
Tyler Zeller would add 14 points and seven rebounds for the Celtics, while Jared Sullinger put up 12 points and nine boards.
That brings Boston’s season record to 16-27.
