The Dallas Mavericks travel to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat tonight.
The Dallas Mavericks will be looking to avoid a fifth straight loss tonight after falling to the Rockets by 99-94 on Wednesday. Monta Ellis led the scoring with 33 points, Chandler Parsons added 21 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 14, but it still wasn't enough to take advantage of a Houston team playing without Dwight Howard. Turnovers and poor perimeter defense really hurt the Mavs which is disappointing because Rajon Rondo was brought in to help with those two aspects and he had zero points and five turnovers in the loss to Houston.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have lost three of their last five and are coming off a 109-102 loss against the Bucks. Chris Bosh led the way with 26 points while Mario Chalmers added 21 points, but the Heat suffered a big blow when Dwyane Wade left the game after just 19 minutes. The Heat would go on to lose to the Bucks for the third time this season but on the bright side, Hassan Whiteside continues to blossom in extended minutes, racking up 16 points and 16 rebounds in 36 minutes.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 64-31 ATS in their last 95 road games and 0-7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a loss, while the Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss and 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
Head to head, the Mavs are 2-5 ATS in their last seven meetings and 13-3-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Miami.
The Mavs are really going through a funk lately, but you have to think that they should win this one with Wade missing for the Heat. This is certainly not a hot tip, but for me, it has to be the Mavs over the Heat in this one.
