The Houston Rockets invade The Palace tonight to battle the Detroit Pistons.
The Detroit Pistons have lost five of their last six games and are in danger of losing their fifth straight after getting routed by the lowly Sixers by 89-69 on Wednesday night. Greg Monroe led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Jodie Meeks added 19 points off the bench, but the Pistons shot a miserable 30.7 percent from the field a two of 20 from the three-point line to get absolutely trounced by the Sixers. The Pistons really shouldn't have had much of a problem in winning this game, but that just shows you what can happen in this league when one team plays with energy and the other team doesn't.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are going for a fifth straight win tonight after sneaking past the Celtics by 93-87 last night. James Harden had a terrible shooting night of 4 for 21 shooting for his 14 points but Donatas Motiejunas made up for that by pouring in 26 points on 11 of 16 shooting as the Rockets stormed out to an 18-point lead going into halftime before stumbling their way to the finish line thanks to an ugly third quarter where they totalled just nine points. In injury news, Dwight Howard missed his second straight game and the Rockets have yet to put a timetable for his return.
In ATS trends, the Rockets are 11-1 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Pistons are 13-6 ATS in the last 19 games overall and 8-21 ATS in their last 29 home games.
Head to head, the Rockets are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Detroit.
The Pistons were absolutely deplorable in their last outing so we should definitely be expecting a bounce-back performance. However, I can't feel too confident about backing a team to beat the Rockets after losing to the Sixers by 20, so I'm taking Houston to win and cover the small spread in this one.
