NBA Player Updates 2/14: The Latest News from Around the League, Upcoming TV Schedule and More
February 14, 2015
We’ve got a full weekend of NBA All-Star action ahead of us, so there will be no shortage of basketball-related activities over the next couple of days. We’ve got some additional news items to go over this morning as well, so let’s check out a few headlines in our daily wrap-up.
Let’s get into some trade rumors right off the bat, as the All-Star break is prime time for speculation.
First off, the Heat are interested in at least a couple of different players, including the Suns’ Goran Dragic and the Thunder’s Reggie Jackson. These two are in addition to Nuggets guard Jameer Nelson, who has also been linked to Miami recently.
Dragic is headed for free agency this summer, according to speculation. The Suns want to get a first-round pick for him if they deal.
No word yet on the potential price tag on Jackson. He’s carrying averages of 12.8 PPG and 4.2 RPG this year.

Down in Atlanta, the Hawks have thrown their proverbial hat into the ring concerning Timberwolves PG Gary Neal. He’s fresh off a trade this week from Charlotte and hasn’t played in a Timberwolves jersey yet.
Neal carries 9.6 PPG, 2.2 RPG and 1.9 APG averages this year.
Will the Knicks be able to land big free-agent fish Marc Gasol this off-season? The fans certainly hope so, and Gasol says he’s considering every option for himself after this year.
The Grizzlies center has a career-best 18.1 PPG average this year and has been a big part of the success in Memphis.
Speaking of the Knicks, forward Carmelo Anthony backtracked a bit from his statement this week that he’d be shutting things down after the All-Star break thanks to his knee issues.
Anthony said yesterday that he hasn’t come to a final conclusion just yet, and said that he was going to try playing after the break.
Anthony still may need surgery on his ailing knee, which has been giving him trouble all year. There’s little to gain from him toughing it out, as the league-worst Knicks are 10-43 right now.
