The Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards meet Friday night at the Verizon Center.
The Cleveland Cavaliers hope to start the second half strong after splitting their last four games. On the season, the Cavs are averaging 102.2 points on 45.6 percent shooting and are allowing 99.3 points on 45.7 percent shooting. LeBron James is averaging 25.9 points and 7.3 assists while Kyrie Irving is averaging 21.7 points and 5.3 assists. Kevin Love is grabbing 10.4 rebounds and J.R. Smith is shooting 40.9 percent from the field. The Cleveland Cavaliers are allowing just 43 percent shooting from the field in their last five games, which is the reason for their solid winning stretch. While the Cavs have a great offense to lead the way, they’ve won 15 of their last 17 games SU when allowing less than 100 points.

The Washington Wizards hope to turn things around after losing six of their last eight games. On the season, the Wizards are averaging 99.7 points on 47.1 percent shooting and are allowing 97.3 points on 43.6 percent shooting. John Wall is averaging 17.4 points and 10.1 assists while Paul Pierce is averaging 12.5 points and 4.3 rebounds. Marcin Gortat is grabbing 8.1 rebounds and Nene Hilario is shooting 52.7 percent from the field. Despite the struggles, the Washington Wizards are allowing just 41.1 percent shooting from the field in their last five games. As long as the Wizards continue to play quality defense, they’re going to turn things around and start winning games. Ramon Sessions is questionable after being picked up in a trade.
The Cavaliers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Wizards are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games playing on 3 or more days rest and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Washington and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall.
I like the Wizards a lot and think the much needed rest will get them back on track. I'm still a little iffy about the Cavs and if they can keep playing well on a consistent level on the road. I simply like the value of Washington and the free bucket at home.
