The New Orleans Pelicans will be shorthanded tonight when they host the Toronto Raptors.
The New Orleans Pelicans were able to snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday with a solid 105-91 win over the Heat thanks to 24 points from Eric Gordon, 15 points from Omer Asik and 13 points from Tyreke Evans. However, the win came at a hefty price as the Pelicans lost both Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson to injuries early in the game. It remains to be seen how the Pelicans will be able to stay in the playoff race if those two key players remain out for an extended length of time, but my guess is that Gordon will have to put up these kinds of games on a nightly basis.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Raptors had won fourth straight and were coming off a massive win over the Hawks before getting ambushed on Saturday by the Rockets. In the 98-76 loss, James Johnson had a great night of 27 points on 10 of 16 shooting, but the rest of the team struggled mightily, shooting just 24.5 percent from the field. Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan combined for just 21 points on six of 27 shooting which really hurt the rest of the team, especially with them committing seven and five turnovers respectively. Despite the loss, Toronto are still 37-18 on the season which is good enough for second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
In ATS trends, the Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss of more than 10 points, while the Pelicans are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games against a team with a winning record and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Raptors are 8-1-1 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 11-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings in New Orleans.
I was already leaning towards the Raptors in this one, especially with the overwhelmingly one-sided ATS trends so I'll be taking them in this one as long as the spread isn't too hefty.
