The Boston Celtics play host to the Charlotte Hornets tonight at the Boston Garden.
The Charlotte Hornets were able to snap an ugly five-game skid on Wednesday with a 98-86 upset win over the Bulls. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds, Mo Williams added 17 points and Al Jefferson had 16 points as the Hornets edged out the Bulls in a tightly contested game. No one has really mentioned the Hornets when talking about the playoff race in the Eastern Conference, but with their 23-32 record, they are actually tied with Brooklyn who hold the eighth spot in the standings, so it's actually wide open at the bottom of the East with roughly 25 games left in the regular season.

Similarly, the Boston Celtics are currently ranked 12th in the Eastern standings but are only one game behind Charlotte with a record of 22-33. On Wednesday night, the Celtics were able to keep the wins coming in with a demolition of the Knicks, beating them by 115-94 thanks to a 67-45 second half performance. Evan Turner led the way with a triple-double of 10 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists but it was really the bench who ignited the team. Jonas Jerebko scored a rapid-fire 20 points in just 21 minutes while Isaiah Thomas added 19 points and seven assists as the bench combined for an impressive 51 points.
In ATS trends, the Hornets are 10-3-1 ATS in their last 14 games following a win of more than 10 points and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games, while the Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.
Head to head, the Hornets are 12-4-1 ATS in the last 17 meetings in Boston and the Under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings.
This is a tough game to pick because the Hornets are coming off a solid win over a good team, but the Celtics look to have found a bit of form themselves, so this one really could go either way. I'm sticking with the home team in this one because they seem to be on a bit of a roll offensively plus they're playing at home.
