The Detroit Pistons invade the Toyota Center to battle the Houston Rockets tonight.
The Detroit Pistons will be eager to avoid a fifth straight loss after falling to the Pelicans by 88-85 on Wednesday. Jodie Meeks had a big game of 20 points off the bench while Greg Monroe added 13 points and 15 and Reggie Jackson added 14 points and 11 assists, but 19 team turnovers and an inability to guard the Pelicans' Anthony Davis left the Pistons mulling over a fourth straight loss. Detroit now drops to 23-37 on the season and 11-17 on the road which has them fading out of the playoff picture which just 22 games left to play.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets were on a five-game winning streak which included wins over the Raptors, Clippers and the Cavaliers, but they've since lost two straight including a 102-100 loss against the Grizzlies on Wednesday. James Harden led the way with 18 points and 13 assists while Terrence Jones continued his hot form with 21 points on 10 of 14 shooting, but just when the game looked like it was heading into overtime, the Grizzlies' Marc Gasol won the game on a last-second running jump shot to spoil the party and send the Rockets to 41-20 on the season and 23-9 at home. To be fair, the referees missed a foul call on a Harden drive in the previous play which would have put him at the line with the scores tied, but that's just the way it goes sometimes.
In ATS trends, the Pistons are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games, while the Rockets are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the Pistons are 2-6 ATS in their last eight meetings overall and 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Houston.
I know the Pistons have already beaten the Rockets earlier in the season, but I'm looking for the Rockets to steady the ship and get back to winning ways with a big game at home tonight.
