The Brooklyn Nets invade the Wells Fargo Center to take on the Philadelphia 76ers tonight.
The Brooklyn Nets will be eager to snap out of their funk and end a five-game losing streak tonight after falling to the Heat by 104-98 on Wednesday. Jarrett Jack and Deron Williams led the team in scoring with 18 points each while Thaddeus Young and Brook Lopez added 15 points apiece, but once again, the Nets were caught playing catchup as they fell behind by 34-23 after the first quarter. Coach Lionel Hollins has tried so many different lineups to try and inject some energy and avoid falling into early deficits but nothing seems to be working at the moment. With the loss, Brooklyn continues to slide down the rankings to 11th place in the East, 3.5 games out of the final playoff spot.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia 76ers continue to show plenty of fight despite being underdogs in just about every game this season. The Sixers have only won two of their last seven games, but but they've forced a couple of overtimes and looked pretty impressive in last night's 114-107 win over the Kings. Robert Covington led the way with 24 points, Nerlens Noel added 16 points and four other players finished in double digits as the Sixers stormed back from an 18-point deficit to post one of their best wins of the season. Defensively, they could do little to slow down the Kings' DeMarcus Cousins who poured in 39 points and 24 rebounds, but they were able to hold the rest of the Kings to 23 of 63 from the field which was the difference in the end.
In ATS trends, the Nets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall, while the 76ers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games and 4-1-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days rest.
My initial inclination was to take the 76ers with the points at home, but it's tough to back them on the second night of a back to back against a Nets team that hasn't played since Wednesday.
