The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Salt Lake City to battle the Utah Jazz tonight.
The Utah Jazz were enjoying a season-best six-game win streak heading into Wednesday before they lost to the Wizards at home by 88-84. Gordon Hayward led the way with 26 points, Derrick Favors added 16 points and Trey Burke had 14, but the rest of the team struggled mightily as the Jazz shot just 41.5 percent from the field, four of 22 from the three point line and 12 of 24 from the free throw line. Give the Wizards credit for their defense, but it really was the case of the Jazz missing a lot of shots they would usually make. Still, despite the loss, Utah are still one of the hottest teams in the league with 13 wins in their last 17 outings and five of their last six at home.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers have lost eight of their last nine and are looking to avoid a fourth straight loss after falling narrowly to the Warriors on Monday. Jordan Clarkson and Wayne Ellington led the team with 17 points, Wesley Johnson added 16 points and Jordan Hill added 15, but while the Lakers did a great job of sticking with a Warriors team that has dominated them all season, they just couldn't find get over the hump against a much more talented Warriors team. With the loss, LA falls to 17-49 which leaves them second to last in the Western Conference standings. To add insult to injury, Nick Young is officially confirmed to be out for the season.
In ATS trends, the Jazz are 4-1-2 ATS in the last seven road games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days rest, while the Lakers are 8-0 ATS in their last eight games following a loss and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall.
Head to head, the Jazz are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall but I'm actually looking for them to buck that trend and get the road win tonight against an injured Lakers team.
