The Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves duke it out at the Target Center tonight.
THe Charlotte Hornets really should be making that surge towards the playoffs, but they've really struggled lately, winning just one of their last six. On Friday against the Kings, Gerald Henderson led the team in scoring with 20 points, Kemba Walker added 18 points and Al Jefferson added 17, but as a team, the Hornets shot just 39.6 percent from the field in a 101-91 loss. Charlotte has now lost three straight and slip out of the top eight in the Eastern Conference with a record of 29-38 on the season.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have lost 10 of their last 12 but showed plenty of life on Thursday when they took down the Knicks by 95-92 in overtime. Kevin Martin led the scoring with 22 points, Zach Lavine and Andrew Wiggins added 20 points each while Gorgui Dieng added 19 points as the Wolves beat the Knicks in one of the ugliest games of the season. In fact, the Wolves actually totalled just 31 points in the entire second half but were able to regroup in overtime and sneak away with the win to improve to 15-53 on the season.
In ATS trends, the Hornets are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 7-3-2 ATS in their last 12 road games against a team with a losing home record, while the Wolves are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games.
Head to head, the home team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the under is 5-2 in the last seven meetings.
The Wolves have the players good enough to snag the unlikely victory here, but the Hornets have so much more to play for and should be good enough to get the win and stay in the playoff hunt.
