NBA Player Updates 4/8: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
April 8, 2015
There are a whopping 13 games on the NBA schedule tonight, and with the playoff race heating up there will be a lot of important happenings out there on the court. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look around the league and check out some of the notable players and situations out there right now.
Hawks-Suns: The Hawks have a lot to smile about this morning. They won their 58th game last night against the Suns, breaking the single-season franchise mark. The team got lots of contributions in the victory, with DeMarre Carroll and Jeff Teague each logging 16 points in the 96-69 win.
Phoenix nearly set a franchise record themselves. They were one point above the low-scoring mark for their team.

Heat-Hornets: Goran Dragic played the hero last night against the Hornets. He scored 28 points, with 11 of them coming in the fourth quarter, to help the Heat to a 105-100 victory that held heavy playoff implications. Luol Deng also had a nice game with 21 points of his own.
With the win, Miami moved to within a half-game of the Celtics for the No. 8 playoff slot in the East.
Warriors-Pelicans: Speaking of teams in the No. 8 slot, the Pelicans are in that position out West. After an impressive 103-100 win over the Warriors last night, they might be able to do some damage in the playoffs from that spot.
Anthony Davis scored 29 points, with 23 of them coming in the second half. He also grabbed 10 rebounds. Stephen Curry scored 25 on the other side, but missed the final shot.
Spurs-Thunder: The Spurs are on quite a roll right now; they’ve won eight straight games. The latest came last night against the Thunder, as Kawhi Leonard matched a career-high with 26 points (his second straight game in doing so) in a 113-88 blowout victory.
San Antonio has been very dominant during this win streak. They’ve won each one by double-digits and by an average of almost 21 points.
