We’re coming off the first weekend of the NBA Playoffs, and we’ve definitely seen some amazing things out there on the court. While we’re waiting on tonight’s pair of games, let’s check out some of the notable players in the news this morning.
Cavaliers-Celtics: The Cavs didn’t have too much trouble with the Celtics in their playoff debut yesterday, thanks mostly to the new “Big Three.” Cleveland put up a 113-100 win, with Kyrie Irving scoring 30 points. LeBron James would add 20 while Kevin Love added a double-double.
Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 22 points.
Game 2 is tomorrow night in Cleveland.

Hawks-Nets: The Hawks had to dig deep to overcome the Nets last night in Atlanta, edging out a 99-92 victory. Kyle Korver put up 21 points and was a little banged up in the contest, while Al Horford came up hurting as well. He dislocated his pinkie finger in the fourth quarter.
Horford’s X-rays were negative, but he had to have his shooting hand taped up. That’s another injury on top of Paul Millsap, who didn’t play well after returning from a sprained shoulder.
Grizzlies-Blazers: The Grizzlies took care of business last night against the Trail Blazers, never trailing in a 100-86 win in Memphis. Beno Udrih put up 20 points in what was a career postseason game for him. He nailed his first six shots off the bench.
Udrih also had seven assists and seven rebounds.
Zach Randolph added a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Marc Gasol got one too. He had 15 points and 11 boards.
Clippers-Spurs: The Clippers struck first in what figures to be a classic series, posting a 107-92 victory over the defending champion Spurs. Chris Paul put up 32 points, while Blake Griffin managed 26 points with his 12 rebounds.
Jamal Crawford put up 17, helping L.A. to a second-half push that put them over the top in Game 1 of this key series.
These two teams will meet again on Wednesday.
