The Brooklyn Nets and Atlanta Hawks play game two of their playoff series Wednesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets lost game one, 99-92, after turning the ball over 17 times and shooting 25 percent from deep. In the loss, Brook Lopez led the way with 17 points and 14 rebounds while Joe Johnson had 17 points and six assists. Thaddeus Young grabbed 10 rebounds and Jarrett Jack chipped in 13 points off the bench. The Brooklyn Nets made a nice comeback by scoring 30 points in the fourth quarter, but they have to play with that type of energy from the start if they hope to steal this game. The Nets have to get their three-ball going and they can’t turn the ball over nearly as much, as they just result in easy transition points for the home team. Look for Deron Williams to be more aggressive offensively. The Nets have lost three straight games on the road.

The Atlanta Hawks made 10 threes and came away with 11 steals in the game on win. In the victory, Kyle Korver had 21 points and seven rebounds while Jeff Teague had 17 points and three assists. DeMarre Carroll scored 17 points and Dennis Schroder dropped 13 points in off the bench. The Atlanta Hawks could play a cleaner game and sometimes looked a little flat, which likely has to do with their starters missing some time to end the regular season. Still, the Hawks made 10 threes and missed just one of their 22 free throw attempts. Look for the Hawks to be slightly sharper heading into this matchup. The Hawks The Hawks have lost just two home games since March.
The Nets are 10-21 ATS in their last 31 vs. NBA Southeast and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Conference Quarterfinals games. The Hawks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Conference Quarterfinals games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest. The Nets are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Atlanta.
The Nets should have new confidence heading into this game after nearly pulling off the improbable comeback. I've always liked the experience the Nets bring to the table, and they can hang with the Hawks if they just bring that energy from the start. I don't love the pick, but if forced to pick this game, I'm siding with the points.
