NBA Player Updates 4/30: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
April 30, 2015
There are two more matchups going down in the 2015 NBA Playoffs tonight, so there’s lots to look forward to. There’s also lots to talk about in the meantime, so with that said let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there.
Hawks-Nets: Let’s start things out today by checking out the 1-8 matchup in the East, which ended Game 5 in a 107-97 Hawks win last night in Atlanta. They currently hold a 3-2 lead.
Al Horford and Jeff Teague each scored 20 points in this one, helping to hold off a late Brooklyn rally that nearly sent them back to New York with a 3-2 advantage.
Instead, the Hawks will be on the verge of closing things out on the road tomorrow night in this series, which is closer than just about anyone thought it would be.
If necessary, the series will shift back to Atlanta on Sunday for a winner-take-all Game 7 matchup.

Grizzlies-Trail Blazers: In another Game 5 matchup last night, the Grizzlies were able to close out their first-round series against the Trail Blazers by a margin of 4-1. They’ll now move on to the second round to face the Golden State Warriors in an unenviable task.
Memphis posted a 99-93 win here, thanks to Marc Gasol’s 26 points and 14 rebounds.
This marks the third time the Grizzlies have reached the Western Conference semifinals in the last five years; they’ll head to Oakland to face the Warriors in Game 1 on Sunday.
They’ll need big contributions from Courtney Lee (who scored 20 in Game 5) and Zach Randolph (who scored 16) to be able to hang with Golden State.
