The Atlanta Hawks look to finish off the Brooklyn Nets tonight at the Barclays Center in Game 6.
The Hawks have yet to really click in this series like they did throughout most of the regular season, but they were able to hold onto home-court advantage with a solid 107-97 win over the Nets in Game 5. The intensity and sense of urgency was on display right from the tipoff and the Hawks hustled their way to an early lead of 33-16 after the first quarter before holding off a late rally from the Nets in the second half. DeMarre Carroll continued his fantastic form with a team-high 24 points, Al Horford and Jeff Teague chipped in with 20 points each while Kyle Korver made five threes en route to 17 points as the Hawks put together their most complete performance of the series to gain a 3-2 lead going into Game 6.

As for the Nets, Brook Lopez shot just four of 13 for his 15 points while Deron Williams finished with just five points and didn't even play late in the fourth quarter after a career playoff-high 35 points in Game 4. Joe Johnson had a nice game of 18 points but was mostly disappointing compared to Jarrett Jack who provided 18 points and six assists off the bench and Alan Anderson who was on fire all game and finished with 23 points on nine of 11 shooting with four three pointers. After putting together two great wins at home to level the series, the Nets just shot themselves in the foot by allowing the Hawks to get off to a hot start and it cost them in the end.
In ATS trends, the Hawks are 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight games overall and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four road games, while the Nets are 7-1 ATS in their last eight Conference Quarterfinals games and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.
Head to head, the Hawks are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings.
Neither team has yet to win on the road so far in this series but I really don't expect this series to go to seven games. The Hawks finally showed glimpses of their mid-season form in Game 5 so now I'm backing them to put away the pesky Nets for good tonight.
