Game 2 of the NBA Western Conference Finals begins tonight, but in the meantime there’s plenty to talk about. Before we get settled in for tip-off, let’s check out some of the notable happenings out there in the league.
Cavs-Hawks: Last night, the Eastern Conference Finals got underway with Game 1 in that series, and the Cavaliers drew first blood against the Hawks.
LeBron James led the team with 31 points, which is really no surprise, but it was JR Smith who owned the night. He was on fire, logging eight 3-pointers on his way to 28 points, pacing the team with a 97-89 victory.
This was the second straight series that the Hawks have dropped Game 1 at home, which is certainly odd for a number-one seed.
Game 2 is tomorrow night, but in the meantime Atlanta has some injury concerns to be fretting over. DeMarre Carroll left the game with a knee injury in the fourth; we’ll get more info on him today.
