The Indiana Pacers have the 11th pick in the 2015 NBA draft, a selection they can use in hopes of getting back into the playoffs in the watered down Eastern Conference. To me, this pick is rather easy.
The Pacers must get younger and more athletic at the power forward spot, which is why I’m taking Bobby Portis out of Arkansas.

Portis is one of the more NBA ready players in this draft class and plays with extreme high energy that Indiana would love. Portis has an inside-outside game on the offensive end and gives it his all on defense. He has a high basketball IQ and plays team basketball.
The Pacers could use a versatile player after shooting just 43.9 percent from the field last season.
Portis may never become a household name in the NBA, but he works extremely hard, wants to win and would fit the grind-it-out culture that the Pacers have built over the years.
The Pacers are going to immediately become a better team with the full time return of Paul George, but their issue at power forward is rather concerning. David West is expected to opt in another year, but he’ll be 35 years old in August and can no longer carry long productive minutes. Luis Scola may resign with Indiana, but he just turned 35 and had his worst shooting season of his career at 46.7 percent.
Portis could take a lot of pressure off both of those guys while learning under some of the more respected veterans in the league. Portis has the skill set and the determination to where he could be the Pacers power forward for the next decade.
Portis plays the game like a Pacer and would fit right in with 14 other guys who give it their all and are committed on defense. I think both Portis and Indiana were made for one another and would be somewhat surprised if it didn’t happen come draft day.
