NBA Player Updates 6/3: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
June 3, 2015
The official countdown to the NBA Finals stands at just one day, and it’s been a long wait. We’ve seen plenty of storylines develop in the recent down-time, so with that said let’s check out the latest news from around the league.
Earlier this week, former Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko announced his retirement. He played in Utah from 2001-2011 and also spent time with the Timberwolves, Nets and Sixers (to which he was traded and refused to play).
Kirilenko most recently played for CSKA Moscow. He managed averages of 11.8 PPG and 5.5 RPG in his career.

Last week, Detroit G/F Cartier Martin filed a notice with the team that he would be exercising his $1.27 million player option.
Martin played in just 23 games in 2014-15, averaging a paltry 1.6 PPG and 0.9 RPG.
Good news for the Warriors today. Both Klay Thompson and Marreese Speights have been cleared and are available for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Thompson suffered a concussion last week in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, while Speights didn’t play at all in that series due to an injured calf.
In other injury news, let’s take our talents to South Beach and check out Chris Bosh. He missed out on the last 30 games of the Heat’s season due to blood clots in his lungs, but has reportedly been doing on-court workouts in recent days.
It remains to be seen what type of recovery Bosh will have from here, but he’s optimistic that he’ll be ready for opening night this upcoming season.
In other Heat news on the injury front, guard Mario Chalmers has begun shooting already this week, just a handful of days after he underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his knee.
Chalmers should be just fine for training camp.
