The Golden State Warriors look to extend their lead to 2-0 when they battle the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2.

The Warriors took a big step to securing their first NBA championship in 40 years by taking down the Cavaliers in a 108-100 thriller in overtime in Game 1. Stephen Curry led hte team with 26 points and eight assists while shooting 10 of 20 from the field while Klay Thompson added 21 points of his own. As a team, the Warriors were clearly nervous coming out of the gates and it caused them to fall behind by 29-19 after the first quarter, but the bench players really got the team back into the game, led by 15 points from Andre Iguodala  who shot 6 of 8 from the field and 2 of 3 from the three point line. Overall, it certainly wasn't the best performance we've seen from the Warriors this postseason, but they really turned on the defense in overtime, scoring the first 10 points to finish on top.

USA TODAY Sports

As for the Cavaliers, LeBron James led from the front with a monster game of 44 points, eight rebounds and six assists on 18 of 38 shooting, while Timofey Mozgov added 16 points including a couple of highlight dunks. Tristan Thompson was once again a monster on the boards, grabbing a total of 15 rebounds, six of which were on the offensive glass, but the story of the night was the injury to Kyrie Irving which has him missing basketball activities for the next 3-4 months. It is such a heartbreaking loss for the Cavs because Irving was actually having a fantastic game of 23 points, six assists and four steals and a clutch block before he fell down and fractured his left kneecap.

In ATS trends, the Cavs are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games against the Western Conference and 4-1 ATS in their last five after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game, while the Warriors are 23-11 ATS in their last 34 games against a team above .600 and 20-5-1 ATS in their last 26 games playing on 2 days rest.

Head to head, the Cavs are 3-10 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Golden State.

Before Game 1, I was predicting a 1-1 tied series going back to Cleveland, but the loss to Irving will be too much for the Cavs to overcome. Take the Warriors to win Game 2 by double digits and move yet another step closer to that NBA Championship.
