NBA Player Updates 6/9: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More

We’ve got two games down in the 2015 NBA Finals now, and Game 3 is coming tonight as the series switches over to Cleveland. While we’re waiting on that one, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there.
The Cavaliers’ J.R. Smith has been a blessing for the team during most of these playoffs, but he nearly cost Cleveland Game 2 with a horrid performance.
Smith shot 5-of-13 in that one (and is 8-for-26 in the series), turning the ball over six times and committing three boneheaded fouls that aided a Warriors surge late in the game.
Smith will need to get his game together if the overly-injured Cavs are going to take this series; even with a superhuman effort from LeBron James and Stephen Curry struggling on the other side, Smith is a vital piece to the Cavs’ attack.

The Celtics have some big decisions to make this off-season regarding their roster, and one of them involves restricted free agent Jae Crowder.
Crowder says he wants to return to the team, and the general feeling is that the Celtics would like to retain him as well. We’ll have to wait and see how the financials work out, however, and see if Crowder gets offers from anywhere else.
Dante Exum has already been hard at work prepping for the 2015-16 campaign, and he’s working out in Utah on a very demanding off-season schedule.
Exum specifically is working on his shooting this summer, and is also trying to add a little bulk to his frame. If all goes well, he’ll enter the season as a stronger, more durable player.
The Timberwolves seem to have quite a few options concerning former second-round draft pick Nemanja Bjelica. The team wants to sign him this off-season, but if they can’t find some common ground with Bjelica’s camp, there are at least a few trade possibilities out there.
Bjelica is getting some significant interest from a handful of teams including Dallas, San Antonio, Miami, Brooklyn and Chicago. He could potentially end up with any of those franchises next season if things don’t work out in Minnesota.
