We’ve got four games down in the 2015 NBA Finals now, and Game 5 is coming up tomorrow night. While we’re waiting on that one, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there.

We’ve talked about the Cavaliers’ J.R. Smith a couple of times this week, and he keeps making news--but not for the right reasons. He had another stinker of an outing in Game 4--which the Cavs lost to the Warriors to even the Finals series--logging a 2-for-12 line.
Smith missed all eight shots he took from 3-point range in that game, which is normally a specialty of his. Overall this series, he’s posted a 14-47 line, which translates to 30 percent.
Smith really needs to step up in this series if the Cavaliers have any chance of winning a championship. With both Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving gone to injury, he’s the next support man for LeBron James. Cleveland likes Smith being aggressive with his shooting, but if he continues to clank iron, there’s not much hope for the Cavs.

The Bucks’ Caron Butler will be a free agent very soon. He’s going to be waived before next month’s deadline and will hit the open market.
Butler didn’t do well statistically in his latest year in the league. He posted just 5.9 PPG. The 35-year-old forward will be in search of a new home come July 1.

Speaking of the Bucks, they’ve got a couple of items on their free agent shopping list already. The team is reportedly going to be in hot pursuit of veteran big men Tyson Chandler and Brook Lopez, who are set to hit the open market.
Bucks coach Jason Kidd has personal experience with both players, as he was on the court alongside Chandler and coached Lopez in Brooklyn.
