The Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic meet for preseason play Saturday at the Amway Center.
The Charlotte Hornets look to get back in the playoff race after winning just 33 games last season. The Hornets have a young intriguing team that includes some recent players you may remember from college in Frank Kaminsky, Aaron Harrison and Cody Zeller. While those guys will be eager to prove themselves as the next guys up, the Hornets will turn to Nicolas Batum, Kemba Walker, Jeremy Lin and Spencer Hawes as the more experienced players to really hold down the fort of this Charlotte roster. This is also a chance for Jeremy Lamb to kickstart his NBA career after being held back with the OKC Thunder. The Charlotte Hornets are one of the younger teams in the league with 10 players 25 years old or younger, so there should be a ton of competition during this preseason.

The Orlando Magic enter this season with a new head coach in Scott Skiles and a roster full of young talent. Players such as Evan Fournier, Elfrid Payton, Victor Oladipo and Tobias Harris have already proven themselves in this league, and they’re all 23 years old or younger. When you add former NCAA stars Aaron Gordon and Shabazz Napier, the Orlando Magic are one of the more promising teams for the future. The Magic have only three players that are at least 30 years old, which means Channing Frye and C.J. Watson have to take a bigger leadership role this season. The Orlando Magic should have a lot of fun this preseason with so much youth and playing time up for grabs. And if everything goes right, the Magic could be one of those sneaky teams in the East that will push for a playoff spot.
I really like the Magic's talent this season, as they're deep and very eager to prove that they have what it takes to be a possible playoff team. I think Orlando is built for the preseason with all of its youth.
I'll take the Magic and lay the bucket.
