The NBA champion Golden State Warriors duke it out with the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night.

The Warriors simply did it all last season. Stephen Curry won the MVP award, Klay Thompson elevated his game and dropped 37 points in a quarter, Draymond Green stuffed the box score on a nightly basis, Andre Iguodala won the Finals MVP award and of course, the Warriors won their first NBA championship since 1972. Sure, there was an element of luck as they ran into a shorthanded Cavaliers team in the NBA Finals, but there's no denying that they were the best team in the league last season.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans will be eager to bounce back and improve on last season's 45-37 record which is actually pretty good considering that they were without their starting point guard, Jrue Holiday who played just 40 games and is expected to start the season with a minutes restriction. Tyreke Evans took a bigger role with the ball handling duties last season but sadly, has been ruled out for the next 6-8 weeks as he recovers from knee surgery. I expect Eric Gordon and maybe even Nate Robinson or Norris Cole to step in and play a role, but when it comes to the Pelicans, it's all eyes on Anthony Davis who added a three-point shot to his game in the offseason, proving he can do it all.

In ATS trends, the Pelicans are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Western Conference and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, while the Warriors are 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games playing on three or more days rest.

The Warriors will be receiving their championship rings and raising the banner before the game which could be a distraction, but I just get the feeling that their home crowd will provide that energy and we'll see GSW pick up right where they left off last season, winning by double digits.
