TV:

Today’s the day. The 2015-16 NBA season will be kicking off tonight, with three matchups on the schedule. In the meantime, let’s visit some of the notable headlines from around the league.

The Trail Blazers’ Al-Farouq Aminu might be missing out on the team’s opener. He’s dealing with a restricting hamstring injury.
Once he’s healthy, Aminu will likely slide into the starting small forward role.

The Pelicans claimed Ish Smith off waivers yesterday. It’s a depth move for them, as they’re looking for help at guard while Tyreke Evans’ knee heals up.
Once Evans is back out there, Smith will likely be cut, but in the meantime he should be able to help New Orleans quite a bit.

Speaking of the Pelicans’ injury situations, Alexis Ajinca is still hurting from a hamstring injury, though he’s hopeful he can play tonight in the opener.
Ajinca has been sidelined most of this month, so if he does end up playing, he’ll likely be limited.

Danny Granger was placed on waivers yesterday, paring the Pistons down to 15 players. It’s been quite a fall for Granger, who was at the top of his game around 2010.
Granger has had his share of health problems, but will try to catch on with another team once his foot heals up. He’ll need about a month to get back to 100 percent.

It looks like we’ve got the Celtics’ starting lineup worked out, at least for the moment. The team will likely be putting Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, David Lee, Tyler Zeller and Jae Crowder out there as starters.
Zeller is a player to watch in this lineup, as he’s coming off a nice preseason. Johnson has also been pretty impressive.

Michael Carter-Williams was able to practice in full yesterday for the Bucks, so it looks like he’ll be just fine for the opener after missing Friday’s game to rest. O.J. Mayo, however is another story. He’s questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Knicks with a hamstring issue.
