The Sacramento Kings travel to the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers tonight.
The Kings earned their first victory of the season last night, beating the Lakers by 132-114 in a rout at home. DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo led the team in scoring with 21 points apeice, Rudy Gay added 19 while Willie Cauley-Stein added 17 points in his first start for the Kings. It was a very encouraging start for the Kings who flew out of the gates and led the Lakers by 24 points at halftime and as many as 31 points midway through the third quarter before taking their foot off the gas late. Rondo did a great job of running the offense while Cousins dominated as he usually does, but the real icing on the cake was the play of Cauley-Stein who looked right at home, playing alongside Cousins in the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, the Clippers have really hit the ground running, starting the season with a couple of wins including a 104-88 rout of the Mavericks on Thursday. Chris Paul had a real quiet game of just nine points and five assists but that didn't hurt the Clippers as they ran their offense through Blake Griffin who dominated with 26 points and 10 rebounds in just 27 minutes. Jamal Crawford and Austin Rivers chipped in with 15 and 14 points respectively but that's where the highlights end because the game didn't quite have any flow or continuity as the Mavs really slowed the game down by hacking DeAndre Jordan until coach Rivers took him out of the game.
In ATS trends, the Kings are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a winning record, while the Clippers are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games.
Head to head, the Kings are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and the under is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings in Los Angeles.
You never want to play the Clippers on zero days rest, but the Kings did a nice job of blowing out the Lakers last night and with the play of Cousins and Rondo, I like their chances of staying within the number.
