The Minnesota Timberwolves play host to the Miami Heat tonight at the Target Center.
The Heat will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 98-92 loss to the Hawks on Tuesday. Hassan Whiteside had a season-best 23 points on 11 of 12 shooting with 14 rebounds and four blocks, Dwayne Wade added 21 points while Goran Dragic had 19 points but Chris Bosh struggled for just nine points on four of 14 shooting. Overall, it was a big night for Whiteside who reminded us of how dominant he can be in the paint, but the Heat had an off shooting night and couldn't get over the hump.

Meanwhile, the Timberwolves were going for a third straight win before losing to the Trailblazers by 106-101 on Monday. Kevin Martin scored 24 points off the bench, Andrew Wiggins added 16 points while Ricky Rubio flirted with a triple double, scoring 12 points with nine rebounds and nine assists. The Wolves have been playing with heavy hearts to start the season and it fueled them early in the game when they shot out to a double digit lead, but they faded down the stretch on an emotional night.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight against a team with a winning record, while the Wolves are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss and 2-5 ATS in their last seven against the Eastern Conference.
Head to head, the Heat are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings in Minnesota.
The early money is going towards the Heat and I feel like that is the right call as the Wolves have yet to face any real competition this season and the Heat should be too much.
