The Dallas Mavericks invade the Toyota Center to take on the Houston Rockets on Saturday night.
The Mavericks have found a bit of form with three wins in their last four outings including a 90-82 win over the Lakers last night. Zaza Pachulia led the team with 18 points and 16 rebounds while Deron Williams added 13 points as the Mavs won despite shooting an ugly 36.6 percent from the field as a team. Luckily, the Mavs were playing against the 1-8 Lakers who shot 33 percent from the field while committing 20 turnovers. Dirk Nowitzki scored just nine points after pouring in a season-high 31 points on Wednesday while Wesley Matthews scored just eight points last night after Wednesday's 25-point night. It definitely wasn't the prettiest of wins, but Dallas got the job done to improve to 5-4 on the season and 3-2 at home.

Meanwhile, the Rockets will be looking to avoid a third straight loss after losing to the Nuggets by 107-98 last night. James Harden was cooking with 28 points, eight rebounds and five assists while Terrence Jones added an efficient 23 points on nine of 12 shooting off the bench, but the Rockets shot just 42.9 percent from the field and really hurt themselves with 20 turnovers. Ty Lawson has had a rough start to the season and it continued in his return to the Pepsi Center as he played 34 minutes but finished the game without scoring a single point.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days rest, while the Rockets are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 against the Western Conference and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Mavs are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 0-5 ATS in the last five meetings in Houston.
The Rockets are in need of a solid home win to steady their season, but the Mavs have found a bit of form and I can see this game going down to the wire. I know the ATS trends are so heavily in favor of the Rockets in this one, but my gut is telling me to take Dallas with the free points.
