The Atlanta Hawks hit the road to take on the Brooklyn Nets tonight at the Barclays Center.
The Hawks started the season as the hottest team in the Eastern Conference, but since winning seven straight they've lost three of their last four and their last two overall. Paul Millsap scored a game-high 28 points while Kent Bazemore and Al Horford chipped in with 16 points each but the Hawks missed on the game-winner when Millsap's last-second 3-pointer hit the rim, dropping the Hawks to 8-4 on the season. Dennis Schroder scored 11 points and nine assists in a rare start as Jeff Teague sat out with a sore left ankle.

Meanwhile, the Nets have won just one of their first 10 games to start the season, but they almost pulled off the biggest upset of the season, pushing the Warriors to overtime before the defending champs took over. Jarrett Jack led the scoring with 28 points and nine assists while Thaddeus Young added 26 points and 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to get past the undefeated Warriors who sunk a three with :05 left in the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. Despite the loss, it was still so encouraging to see the Nets push the league's best team right to the edge.
In ATS trends, the Hawks are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall, while the Nets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games playing on two days rest and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss.
The Nets showed plenty of fight in a game they were never supposed to be win, but I'd be pretty surprised if they could go one better against a Hawks team in need of a win. This should be a close one, but I like the Hawks to pull away late and avoid a third straight loss.
