The Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Pelicans battle it out at the Smoothie King Center tonight.
The Nuggets were on a bit of a roll before they had their three-game win streak snapped at Phoenix in a 105-81 rout on Saturday. Will Barton had himself a nice game of 19 points and 12 rebounds while Emmanuel Mudiay added 13 points, but this game was over before it really began as the Suns came ready to play and just blew the Nuggets out of the water to lead by 60-28 points at halftime. As a team, the Nuggets shot just 34.7 percent from the field and six of 35 from the three-point line and no one could stay in front of the Suns' Eric Bledsoe who poured in 30 points. With the loss, Denver falls to 5-5 on the season and 2-3 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans have won just one game all season and are coming off a 95-87 loss to the Knicks. Anthony Davis returned after missing the last two games and poured in 36 points on 14 of 26 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds and four blocks while Ryan Anderson chipped in with 16 points off the bench, but the Pelicans' long list of injuries was once again too much to overcome as they don't really have anyone to make up for Tyreke Evans, Norris Cole and Kendrick Perkins who were all out for the game. New Orleans is now 1-9 on the season and still winless in six road games for the season.
In ATS trends, the Nuggets are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games following a loss and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games, while the Pelicans are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall but the home team is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings.
Under normal circumstances with both teams fully healthy, I'd be all over the Pelicans to win this one at home, but the Nuggets were embarrassed in their last outing and I think they'll come out with the right level of urgency and get the win tonight.
