The Oklahoma City Thunder travel to South Beach to battle the Miami Heat tonight.
The Thunder will be looking to bounce back after having their four-game win streak snapped by the Hawks in a 106-100 loss on Wednesday. Russell Westbrook flirted with a triple-double scoring 34 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, Kevin Durant added 25 points while Serge Ibaka had 17 points but the Thunder fell just short as the Hawks closed the game with a 14-4 run. As a team, the Thunder shot just 39.8 percent from the field as they struggled against the Hawks' frontcourt defense until they made their run in the fourth quarter which ultimately fell short. With the loss, OKC fall to 11-7 on the season and 3-4 on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
Meanwhile, the Heat have won four of their last six games but are coming off a 105-95 loss to the Celtics despite 30 points from Dwyane Wade who shot 12 of 24 from the field. Chris Bosh added 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, but it wasn't enough as no other Heat player scored more than 10 points. Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic were particularly disappointing, combining for just 15 points against the Celtics who rank near the bottom in defense. With the loss, Miami fall to 10-6 on the season and 8-3 at home.
In ATS trends, the Thunder are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-7 ATS in their last nine games overall, while the Heat are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss but just 1-5 ATS in their last six home games.
Head to head, the Thunder are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Miami.
We already know how dangerous the Thunder can be when healthy, but the Heat have been the more consistent team and will have had this game circled on their calendar for sure. This game is sure to go down to the wire, so I'm taking the home team with the points here.
