The Los Angeles Lakers invade the Philips Arena to battle the Atlanta Hawks tonight.
The Lakers were able to snap a seven-game losing streak with an impressive 108-104 win over the Wizards thanks to a vintage performance from Kobe Bryant who poured in 31 points including a couple clutch baskets in the final minute of the game. Jordan Clarkson added 18 points while D'Angelo Russell chipped in with 13 points but Julius Randle was particularly good for the Lakers, scoring 15 points to go along with a career-high 19 rebounds. The Lakers desperately needed a win after losing to the league-worst 76ers and they showed up in a big way for Bryant who recently announced his retirement.

Meanwhile, the Hawks have alternated wins and losses in their last nine games and are coming off a disappointing 96-86 loss to the Raptors. All five starters finished in double figures with Paul Millsap scoring 14 points and Thabo Sefolosha adding 13 points, but as a team, the Hawks shot a miserable 36.7 percent from the field in one of their worst offensive games of the season. For whatever reason, the Hawks just haven't looked anything like the team that ran circles around the Eastern Conference last season as their last loss drops them to a mediocre 12-9 on the season and 7-4 at home.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, while the Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Head to head, the Lakers are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Atlanta and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
I know this is a lot of points for the Hawks to be laying, but they just can't afford to slip up and let the Lakers hang around. I expect the Hawks to come out firing and put this one away early against a Lakers team that's been horrible all season.
