The Cleveland Cavaliers travel to the Smoothie King Center to battle the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.
The Pelicans have been struggling mightily with four straight losses including a 108-101 loss at Houston on Wednesday. Anthony Davis had a monster game of 29 points and 13 rebounds, Ryan Anderson added 19 points while Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans had 10 points each, but in a tight contest, the Pelicans just fell away late against the Rockets who had James Harden. This was just another game where Davis has a big night that ends in a disappointing loss and it's starting to get too late to make the playoffs which is where most pundits had the Pelicans this season.

Meanwhile, we all know that the Cavaliers will be right in the championship conversation come playoff time but they certainly didn't look like it in Tuesday's 97-85 loss to the Wizards. LeBron James had a big game of 24 points, 13 rebounds and four assists but he committed a season-high nine turnovers while Kevin Love scored just eight points after pouring in 26 points on Saturday. Not for the first time this season, the Cavs looked soft on defense, allowing the Wizards' John Wall to pour on 35 points on 14 of 24 shooting and it felt like half of those were uncontested layups. With the loss, Cleveland drops to 13-5 on the season and 9-1 at home.
In ATS trends, the Cavs are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games overall and 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, while the Pelicans are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games following a loss and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Despite having a record of just 4-15 on the season, the Pelicans have what it takes to beat the Cavs at home, but I just can't see LeBron being too happy about the way his team played in their last game so I'm expecting a big win here for Cleveland.
